Revell / Monogram NEW Release REV4827-Revell Monogram 1/32 scale slot car, '67 Ford Fairlane #34 Wendell Scott History: Wendell Scott began racing in 1947 and in 1959 he won 22 races at the local Richmond track and was track champion, also in 1959 he won the Virginia state sportsman title. In 1961 Wendell moved up to Grand National racing and in 1964 on a one-mile track in Florida he became the first, and to date, only African-American driver to win a Grand National event. In the 1967 season driving a Ford he finished 10th in the point standings, one of the four times he finished in the top ten at the end of a season. Scott was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1999. REV4831-Revell Monogram 1967 Ford Fairlane #115 Parnelli Jones History: Rufus Parnell "Parnelli" Jones is most remembered for his 1963 Indianapolis 500 win, and almost winning the 1967 Indy 500 in a turbine car. Jones developed his racing skills by racing in many different classes in the 1950s, including 15 stock car racing wins in the Nascar Pacific Coast Late Model Series. Parnelli's Nascar Cup Series statistics are 34 races run over a 12 year period with 4 wins, 11 top tens and 3 poles. His biggest Nascar Cup win was the 1967 Motor Trend 500 at Riverside, California. Parnelli has been inducted in over 20 Motorsports and Racing Halls of Fame. BRUT Mustang from Scalextric C3002- Allan Moffat “BRUT” Ford Mustang, hits the shelves in a classy green and silver livery. With an incredible competition career from 1969 to 1974, Allan Moffat and his amazing Mustang amassed 101 race wins from 151 starts and volumes of qualifying and lap records around the country. That stunning strike rate alone could explain this car's fanatical following, but what made its success all the more astonishing was that Moffat was often competing against muscle monsters with far greater engine capacity. Bob Jane's big block 7.0 litre ZL-1 Camaro, Norm Beechey's 6.0 litre HT GTS Monaro and Pete Geoghegan's ferocious 5.8 litre Super Falcon all towered over Moffat's humble 5.0 litres of small block V8, during the Australian Touring Car Championships (ATCC) from 1969 to 1972. History records that Moffat never won the ATCC with the Mustang, after four hard years of trying. However, such a statistic is irrelevant when compared to the car's extraordinary success rate and countless unforgettable performances that have each earned their place in history.
